Aurora Woman Faces Drug-Induced Homicide Charge In Yorkville Case

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — An Aurora woman was arrested Wednesday on accusations of drug-induced homicide as the result of an investigation into a man's July death. According to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Maritza Ruiz, from the 500 block of North Farnsworth Ave. in Aurora, faces one felony count of drug-induced homicide.

On July 11, Kendall County SHeriff's Office deputies were called to the 8000 Block of Van Emmon Road for a man who was found dead. According to the news release, the man died from drug toxicity, and sheriff's office detectives began an investigation into his death, resulting in the arrest of Ruiz.

According to the sheriff's office, Ruiz remains in custody and is awaiting a bond hearing.
