Boulder Hill Resident Kimberly Williams’ daughter and nephew were outside playing when Williams heard them talking to the neighbors on the other side of their fence.

Williams asked the kids what was going on and they said a dead animal was found in the yard next door.

When Williams went over to look, she said she was horrified by the smell and the look of the animal. She saw teeth and a black, rubbery face with no fur on it.

“We couldn’t figure out what it was,” Williams said.

The neighbors called Kendall County Animal Control, but the organization said they couldn’t take the animal.

Director of Kendall County Animal Control Anna Friedman said they only deal with live dogs and cats and suggested to the family that they contact a wildlife removal company that could take the animal. She also suggested taking it to a veterinarian’s office to be scanned for a microchip.

“We don’t get that many deceased animals calls,” Friedman said, adding that there isn’t any agency in Kendall County that deals with deceased animals on private property.

Friedman said the man who called about the animal was almost certain it wasn’t a dog.
