Burger King Coming Back To Yorkville

The previous Burger King on Bridge Street closed in 2013, reopening as a Hardee's, which has since burned down.

YORKVILLE, IL — After more than four years, Burger King is returning to Yorkville. The fast-food chain is building a new restaurant in front of Menards on Route 47, village officials told Kendall County Now.

The new Burger King will reportedly be completed sometime this fall.

In late 2013, the Burger King that had been at at 1510 Bridge St. since 1988 closed, reopening as a Hardee's restaurant right around the time that Hardee's took over a former Burger King in Plainfield and a taco place in Oswego. Like Burger King, Hardee's had a Yorkville location in years past, but left in the late 1980s. Its return was met with mixed reaction, but the location closed just three years later after a fire at the restaurant.
