The Yorkville Police Department will close Game Farm Road in two locations at 3:50 p.m. Saturday to prepare for the ceremony.
YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville Police Department announced Monday a temporary road closure during Yorkville High School's 2020 Graduation Commencement Ceremony, a "drive-in experience" happening at 4 p.m. Saturday. According to a news release, the police department will close Game Farm Road in two locations at 3:50 p.m. Saturday to prepare for the ceremony. Game Farm Road will be closed at Pleasure Drive, restricting southbound traffic, and at West Street, restricting northbound traffic, for 30 minutes or until all cars enter the ceremony grounds, the news release said.
The "drive-in" ceremony will allow families to drive onto the Yorkville High School field to celebrate the class of 2020 and experience graduation together. All graduates will have the opportunity to cross the commencement stage to receive their diplomas, and family members will watch the ceremony from the comfort of their cars, according to the news release.
Police remind everyone that attendance at the Class of 2020 Graduation Commencement Ceremony is for YHS graduating seniors and their immediate families (members) only, and a livestream of the graduation will be available for members of the public who would like to view the ceremony at y115.org/YHS2020.
