YORKVILLE, IL —A girl riding a bicycle was injured when she was struck by a vehicle at around 7:20 p.m. Friday, Yorkville police said. A woman was driving west on Bristol Bay Drive about 300 feet east of Garritano Street when the girl, identified only as a juvenile, rode her bike down a hill across the sidewalk and into the street.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Gina Rediger of Yorkville, was unable to stop before the front of her vehicle hit the girl. Rediger was cited for not having insurance and failing to yield to a pedestrian.

The girl's parents arrived on the scene, and she was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital for treatment of her injuries, police said.
