Horse Remains On Loose In Yorkville After Other Captured
Police and community members ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of a recently spotted palomino horse to let them know.
YORKVILLE, IL — In the last week, police in Yorkville responded to two separate incidents involving horses on the loose around town. According to Yorkville police, a horse was spotted Saturday on the north side near Galena and Cannonball, after a different horse — described by community members as a palomino — was seen a few days earlier on the city's south side. The Yorkville Police Department shared a photo Saturday of a chocolate-colored horse relaxing in a north side field, while adding that the "south side" horse was more of a golden color.
According to police, the golden color "south side" horse is known for using the roadways to wander.
Patch reached out to the police department to see whether both wandering horses are safe and sound with their owners. According to a Facebook comment reply written under the police department's Saturday post, Blythe Graver said the darker horse was finally caught Monday. Graver added that both horses are feral. Graver said they're still trying to capture the palomino horse, and asks anyone who knows the horse's whereabouts to please let them know.
