LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Kendall County, IL (June 16, 2021, 2:00 PM)

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Oswego Police Department, Yorkville Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Plano Police Department, and the Waubonsee Community College Campus Police Department for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, which is the largest fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. Local law enforcement officers, deputies, families, and friends helped carry the torch throughout the 3.8 mile run on June 16, 2021. Two groups participated in the run that began at Crosspointe Church in Oswego and Waubonsee Community College – Plano Campus.  The groups met at Route 47 and Route 34 and proceeded together to Yorkville Town Square, where they were met by many Special Olympics athletes, family, and friends. Thank you to all who donated and came out to support us at all Special Olympics events. Good luck to all the Special Olympics athletes as the Virtual Summer Games commence on Monday, June 21st, 2021.
