Kiwanis Yorktoberfest to Feature Country Music Artist Jackie Lee

The first annual event will feature live country music from local and Nashville artists, including country music rising star Jackie Lee

Kiwanis Club of Yorkville, Illinois is hosting its first annual Yorktoberfest in partnership with the United City of Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from noon to 11 p.m. at Riverfront Park in downtown Yorkville located at 301 East Hydraulic Avenue.

The community and visitors from all around are invited to join in the festivities of the traditional German celebration of Oktoberfest with a special Yorkville twist.

Yorktoberfest will feature country music throughout the day starting with DJ Suave Smooth from noon to three, followed by acoustic acts Tiffany Marie and Tim Gleason, and topped off with full band performances by Scott Marek Band, Les Richardson, and country music up-and-comer, Jackie Lee.

Country newcomer Jackie Lee has been called an Artist to Watch by Amazon, Billboard, Huffington Post, CMT, Rolling Stone Country, iHeart Radio’s Bobby Bones and more. Following a banner 2017 which saw his single “Getting Over You” rack up over 40 million streams, the 26-year-old’s current single “Comeback” was released in May of 2018 on the heels of his “achingly emotional” (Washington Post) music video for “Long Year.” “Country music’s sexiest new singer” (RARE) has toured with Dan + Shay and performed at Stagecoach, Country LakeShake, Faster Horses, Watershed and Windy City Smokeout.

Admission to the event is free, and there will be activities for the whole family all day, including pumpkin decorating, hayrides, and line dance lessons.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Kiwanis Club of Yorkville Illinois Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with the mission of completing service projects that improve the quality of life for children and families worldwide, especially for those children and families located in Yorkville and Kendall County, Illinois. Proceeds will be used to support those service projects and to fund scholarships that will be awarded to students who have shown a commitment to serving others and their community.
