New Deputy Hired By Kendall County Sheriff's Office

Andrew Sotomayor has worked as a firefighter in Riverside and a police officer at the Northern Illinois University Police Department.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has a new Patrol Division deputy. The sheriff's office announced Thursday that Andrew Sotomayor was sworn in by Sheriff Dwight Baird Wednesday. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Deputy Sotomayor will be paired with an experienced field training officer for a rigorous 14-week field training program.

Sotomayor studied at Harper College and Malcolm X College, the sheriff's office said. Before joining the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Sotomayor worked as a firefighter in Riverside, and a police officer at the Northern Illinois University Police Department, the sheriff's office added.
