No Indoor Dining: How Will Yorkville Restaurants, Bars Survive?

YORKVILLE, IL — As of Wednesday, Indoor dining at Yorkville restaurants is forbidden, as state public health officials announced new restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. All service inside bars and restaurants in Kendall County is now off-limits, all outdoor eating or drinking has to stop by 11 p.m. and gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 25 people.

Restrictions will be lifted when the region records positivity rates under 6.5 percent for three days in a row, while public health officials will add more restrictions if the regional positivity rate remains above 8 percent for 14 days in a row. If the positivity rate averages greater than or equal to 8 percent after 14 days, more stringent mitigations may be applied to further reduce spread of the virus.

With the final addition of Region 2, now all 11 regions have triggered one of the state's fail-safe state-action metric. These mitigations do not apply to schools.
