Plano Man Charged With DUI, Fighting Officers And EMS

The man allegedly crashed into a utility pole and fled the scene

Just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of River Road and Blackhawk Road. They found a car that had crashed into a utility pole. The driver had fled the scene, but he was quickly apprehended.

The alleged driver was Demetrius Peterson, a 23-year-old from Plano. He was transported to a local hospital, but became combative with officers and medic personnel.

Peterson was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, possession of controlled substance, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released from the hospital to the Kendall County Jail, where he posted bond.
