Police Investigating Possible Paintball Shots In Yorkville

A person told police a car approached them and they heard three "pops," before the car drove away in Yorkville Sunday.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville Police Department is investigating an incident possibly involving a paintball gun found inside a car Sunday after a person told police he heard three "pops" coming from a car when it approached him near Autumn Creek Boulevard and Orchid Street. According to a news release from the police department, police and members of the Kendall County SHeriff's were called to that area at 10:43 a.m. Sunday regarding "suspicious activity", where the person told police a car pulled up and someone pointed an "object" at him. According to police, the person said they heard three "pops," before the car drove away.

According to the news release, police said there's no recovered evidence that a firearm was used, and the car was found nearby Sunday with no one inside. Officers found what police said appeared to be a paintball gun in the back seat of the car, and the vehicle is now in police possession for the investigation.
