Road Rage Suspect Swings Hatchet At Car: Yorkville Police

Police said it happened after an altercation between drivers on Friday.

YORKVILLE, IL — Police say they've identified the person involved in a Friday afternoon road-rage incident in Yorkville that ended with the suspect swinging a hatchet at another vehicle.

Police said the incident happened at 4:08 p.m. Friday near Route 71 and Route 47. During the incident, police said one driver retrieved a hatchet from the trunk of their vehicle and swung it at the other vehicle, but did not cause any damage.

No one was injured.

Yorkville police said they have identified the vehicle involved in the incident as well as the suspect, but have not yet released that person's name.

The incident remains under investigation.

Yorkville police were assisted by Oswego police and the Kendall County Sheriff's Office in responding to the incident.
