Sign Up Open For Drive-In Movie At Raging Waves
Here's when Yorkville and Oswego residents and non-residents can register for the June 25 drive-in movie outside Raging Waves Waterpark.
YORKVILLE, IL — The United City of Yorkville and the Village of Oswego are teaming up with Raging Waves Waterpark to host a drive-in movie event at Raging Waves, located at 4000 N. Bridge Street, on June 25. According to the City, registration for the drive-in movie event is now open for Oswego and Yorkville residents through June 19 and will open to non-residents beginning June 20 as space allows, the City said, in a news release. For $5 per vehicle, families can view "Frozen II" as it plays on a 30-foot inflatable screen, while enjoying a large popcorn provided by Raging Waves from the comfort of their cars.
The movie will start at dusk (8:45 p.m.) with the parking lot opening for parking at 7:30 p.m. on June 25, the City said, and added that parking for the movie viewing will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
According to the news release, registration should only include the number of cars attending.

According to the City, movie participants must follow these guidelines:

- All families must remain in their vehicles throughout the event.
- Viewing the movie from the open bed of a pickup truck/van or on top of vehicle is not permitted
- Families are urged to utilize bathroom facilities before attending the event; however, portalets will be available for emergency cases.
- Families attending the event must abide by all social distancing guidelines.

While the parking lot of Raging Waves will be open for drive-in movie event guests, the United City of Yorkville announced Wednesday that splash pads and water parks, specifically Raging Waves, will remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic under the guidance of the Restore Illinois Plan. The City also said that Raging Waves is not scheduled to be open for swimming until Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan.
