Stolen Vodka on Christmas Eve and Crashing into a Building: Yorkville Crime Summary

This is what the Yorkville PD has been dealing with in the past week

The following information was obtained through Yorkville Police department press releases.

On Christmas Eve, a mother brought her child back to a Yorkville store on the 200 block of E. Veterans Parkway to return a $22 bottle of vodka the child had stolen two days prior. The store declined to press charges.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, officers responded to the 500 block of Powers Court, where the windows of an SUV had been broken. Two unknown suspects fled the scene before the officers arrived.

Donald Gullett, a 27-year-old from Charleston, Illinois, was cited for driving too fast and leaving the scene of an accident after he reportedly struck a building with his 1996 Saturn. The incident occurred on the night of December 23 at the intersection of Sunset Avenue and Leisure Street. Gullett was located by police and cited the next morning.

Donol McGrath, a 62-year-old from Yorkville, hit a pedestrian with his Ford F-150 truck on the 200 block of E. Veterans Parkway on December 23. The pedestrian was 26-year-old Christopher Caldwell of Millington, Illinois. Caldwell was transported to Rush Copley Hospital. No charges were reported for this incident.
