Teen Dies in Yorkville While Fleeing Police
The 17-year-old was driving a car which had been reported stolen
Just after 9 a.m. on Thursday morning Yorkville police responded to a report of a stolen package from the front porch of a home on the 700 block of Arrowhead Lane, according to a department press release.
Police located the suspect in a 2003 Toyota Avalon at Omaha Drive and Homestead Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen on Monday.
Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect drove away at high speed through the Heartland subdivision. The driver lost control of the vehicle on the 600 block of Heartland Drive and struck a large tree.

The suspect was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. She was a 17-year-old from Dalton, Illinois.
