Don’t be late! Scores of community youth will bring a childhood classic to life April 12 and 13 with Your Performing Arts Center (YPAC). Two casts – one based in Yorkville and one in Plainfield – will stage “Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” the musical, featuring favorite songs like “Very Merry Unbirthday” and “Zipadeedoodah.”

“This production is bright and whimsical, complete with new songs, old favorites that you know by heart and characters that you love,” said Beth Jackson, YPAC Theatre Community Director. “These students work hard to hone their skills and are excited to share their talents with their communities.”

The shows feature youth, ages 5 to 17, who have been working closely together on the fantastical show for weeks, under the direction of YPAC staff. The 87 cast members represent several towns, including Yorkville, Plainfield, Plano, Oswego, Montgomery, Sugar Grove, Big Rock, Newark, Channahon, Crest Hill, Romeoville, Shorewood, Naperville, and Joliet.

Tickets now are on sale for all four shows. The Plainfield cast will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, and the Yorkville cast performs at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on April 13. All performances are at Community Commons Auditorium, 24035 Riverwalk Court, Plainfield.
