YMS Athletes Raising Funds for Tornado Relief

Two fundraising efforts, coordinated by the YMS Boys Basketball team, will benefit Illinois tornado victims. 

The team sincerely hopes to raise enough funds to allow Washington Middle School to provide necessary items for some of its students and their families during this holiday season.  

Bulls Ticket Raffle

As part of the YMS 7th grade boys’ basketball tornado relief fundraiser a Yorkville community member has been gracious enough to donate four (4) tickets to the Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat game on December 5th at 8:30 pm.  Also included in the package is one (1) parking pass for the event. 

YMS basketball staff will be holding a raffle between now and December 3rd where a $5 ticket will enter you in the raffle to win all four tickets and the parking pass.  

Tickets for this event can be purchased through 7th grade basketball players as well as YMS basketball staff.  In addition the team will be selling tickets at all schools in the district.  

All proceeds for this event will go to Washington Middle School in Washington, IL to help students in need during the holiday season.  The game is coming up quickly so enter for a chance to win! 

Seat information:  Section 306, row 2, seats 5-8  valued at $55 per seat and $25 for the parking pass

Free Throw Pledging

Washington Middle School is an IESA team and as a fellow IESA team, YMS Boys Basketball is reaching out to this school in need.  

The 7th grade boys’ basketball team at Yorkville Middle School will be reaching out by raising funds to be donated directly to Washington Middle School students. Washington Middle School will then be able to direct those funds to their specific areas of need.

YMS athletes will be raising funds for every free throw made in a game between our November 19th game vs. Traughber through our December 12th game vs. Plano.  

We are asking each member of the team go into the community and ask for pledges for every free throw made in those games (both first and second games).  

Each player is encouraged to obtain as many pledges as possible.  The team will then use the week of December 16th to calculate and collect funds with the goal of mailing a check to Washington Middle School on December 20th.
