District 308, Yorkville Schools Cancel Activities Due To Weather
Some area school districts have canceled events due to frigid, icy conditions.

YORKVILLE, IL — District 308, Yorkville School District 115 and other nearby school districts have canceled all after-school activities Tuesday amid frigid temperatures and treacherous road conditions. SAFE programs will continue as scheduled, District 115 said on Facebook.
"Due to hazardous weather conditions, all after school activities across SD 308 will be cancelled today, January 22," District 308 announced. "This includes all sports practices and contest, clubs, activities, and meetings at the school and district level."

Other districts canceling after-school activities include Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, Joliet Grade School District 86, Joliet Township High School District 204 and Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C, which said, "(Cancellations include) the Boys Basketball Regional away as well as the home GVB games. This will also include all activity buses being canceled."
