Yorkville will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, a parade, live music and more.

YORKVILLE, IL —July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find some patriotic events going on near you. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Yorkville.

There's a 30 percent chance of storms Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. A high of 89 degrees is forecast during the day, but it's expected to cool down at night.

Here's what's in store this 4th of July in Yorkville:

  • What: Yorkville's 4th of July Celebration includes a parade, water fights, foot races, rides and live music from the Yorkville Community Band
  • Where: The parade steps off from Yorkville High School before the fun moves to Town Square, 301 N. Bridge St.
  • When: Parade at 9 a.m., activities start at noon, firework at dusk Thursday, July 4
  • Schedule of events:
    • 9 a.m.: Parade steps off from Yorkville High School
    • Noon: Kids' activities begin at Town Square, including children's foot races, rides, water fights and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band
    • 8 p.m.: Performance by the Yorkville Big Band at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home
    • Dusk: Fireworks begin
