The Yorkville homecoming parade will be on Thursday instead of Saturday this year, according to Kendall County Now. The board of education voted 4-1 to change the day of the annual parade.
"For your understanding, the sponsors approached building administration regarding the proposed changes due to the continued challenge to decorate the gym, cafeteria, and sports lobby on Saturday prior to the event," Yorkville High School Principal David Travis wrote in a memo to the board.
The homecoming parade is now scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m., and the district Hall of Fame banquet would follow at 7 p.m.
