A Yorkville police chase on foot leads to one in custody, charged with multiple offenses.

YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville man shooting a gun and running through a field was arrested Sunday evening. The shots were heard as officers were standing outside the Yorkville Police Station around 5:40. On foot, they found a man running through a field toward the Beecher Center baseball area. No games were taking place at that time. When officers approached him, he suspect ran and climbed a fence in an attempt to elude the police, according to a press release from the Yorkville Police Department.
Cops eventually found 32-year-old William Larson of West Barberry Lane and made an arrest. Larson caused minor injury to an officer while resisting the arrest. The man said he had no intentions to harm anyone when he fired the gun, which he hid. A county search and rescue team located the weapon. Larson was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resisting a Peace Officer and Criminal Trespass to State Supported Property.
