Yorkville Holiday Celebration 2020 Kick Off Events
Christmas Tree Lighting, Drive-by Santa visits and more happening next month in Yorkville.
YORKVILLE, IL — It's been a year unlike any other, and the United City of Yorkville wants to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with fun, socially distanced, family events next month in Riverfront Park. The city invites residents to kick off the holidays during the Yorkville Holiday Celebration on Nov. 20 and 21:
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: 7:15 p.m., Nov. 20

Where: Riverfront Park (131 E. Hydraulic Ave., Yorkville)
Details: The city invites residents to join Mayor Purcell in this longtime Yorkville Tradition as he
lights the beautiful 22-foot tree in the center of Riverfront Park during this socially distanced event.

Drive-By Santa Visits
When: 4-7 p.m., Nov. 20, and 3-6 p.m., Nov. 21
Where: According to the city, Santa is setting up his workshop in Riverfront Park (131 E. Hydraulic Ave., Yorkville)
Details: Families will have the opportunity to drive by Santa’s Workshop during both time slots, and stop for a distanced photo.

Holiday Fireworks Show
When: 6:30 p.m., Nov. 21
Where: Fireworks will be shot off at the corner of Countryside Pkwy. and Rt. 47
Details: Start the holiday season with a "BANG"
and join the city for the annual Fireworks Show.
