Yorkville Man Drives Into Ditch, Gets Charged With DUI: Police

Officers found the 22-year-old around 3 a.m., according to police

Travis Bateman was arrested for driving under the influence early Sunday morning after Yorkville police found his vehicle in a ditch near route 71 and Pavillion Road, according to a department press release.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch. Officers found Bateman and his 1998 Chevy Malibu off the road. They determined that the 22-year-old from Yorkville was intoxicated and that he had driven off the road and struck a dirt embankment, according to the release.

Bateman was booked at the Kendall County Jail.

Kendall County Court records indicate that Bateman pled guilty to speeding in 2014 and driving without windshield wipers in 2013.
