YORKVILLE, IL — A local man who delivered heroin to undercover officers is sentenced to eight years in state prison, according to Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis. Daniel Cosma, 39, of the 100 block of W. Kendall Drive, was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Judge Timothy McCann handed down the sentence for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance for an incident that took place in January of 2016.
An investigation by the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team (CPAT) began in 2015. CPAT was tracking Cosma as part of an effort to combat an opioid problem in the county. According to a press release, Cosma will be required to serve three years of mandatory supervised release after his sentence is served.
