The event will feature a reading of the names on the memorial in Towns Square, plus music from the Yorkville Middle School Band.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville American Legion will host its annual Memorial Day commemoration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 27, in Town Square Park, 301 N. Bridge St. The event will feature the reading of names printed on the memorial at Town Square, music by the Yorkville Middle School Band and several speakers.

There will be a Parks and Recreation tent where the public will have a sponsorship opportunity for the Flags of Valor display for Veteran’s Day. The Yorkville American Legion Post 489 and the Veterans Outreach for Kendall County are inviting the public to honor our nation and the veterans who have served with the 2019 Yorkville Flags of Valor, to be displayed at Yorkville Town Square the week of Veterans Day.

The cost is $30 to sponsor a flag and includes a keepsake ribbon and an option to personalize a tag in honor of a veteran in your life. Flags will be displayed at Town Square from Monday, Nov. 4 through Nov. 11. Ribbons and tags will then be mailed to designated address listed on form the week after Veterans Day. Sponsorship forms are available online.
