Yorkville School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Vacation

YORKVILLE IL — The first day of school in Yorkville is Aug. 13 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 has released its 2019-2020 calendar.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August:

• Aug. 8-9, 12: Teacher institutes - no student attendance
• Aug. 13: First day of school

September:

• Sept. 2: Labor Day - no school

October:

• Oct. 11: No school
• Oct. 14: Columbus Day: no school
• Oct. 15: Teacher institute day
• Oct. 16: End of quarter
• Oct. 24: Early dismissal and parent/teacher conferences
• Oct. 25: No school - parent/teacher conferences

November:

• Nov. 26: Early release (1 hour)
• Nov. 27-29: No school

December:

• Dec. 20: Early release (1 hour)
• Dec. 23-31: Winter break

January:

• Jan. 1-3: Winter break
• Jan. 17: Teacher institute day
• Jan. 20: No school

February:

• Feb. 17: Presidents' Day - no school

March:

• March 10: End of quarter
• March 20: Early release (1 hour)
• March 23-27: Spring break

April:

• April 10: no school
• April 13: Teacher institute day

May:

• May 20: Last day of school
• May 25: District closed (Memorial Day)
• May 22, 26, 29: Emergency days if needed
