YORKVILLE, IL—Three third-grade Circle Center Grade School students are preparing to present at Tech 2019. Among those selected to participate are Cambria Cann, Duncan Heminthavong and Alice Mattson.

The May 7 event provides a space for student technology demonstration at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield.

“District 115 is honored to have our young and innovative learners represent our district in Springfield,” Yorkville CUSD 115 Superintendent Dr. Timothy Shimp said in a release. “These students are a great example of how District 115 continues to seek new and additional technology tools to increase engagement, transform learning, and modernize our classrooms.”

The three students will present on their “Tech Task Force,” an entrepreneurial technology-consulting agency.

At the event, the students will be tasked with showing the public and members of the Illinois State Senate and House of Representatives how they use technology to increase student engagement and improve achievement, officials said. At Circle Center Grade School, Tech Task Force students visit neighboring classrooms to assist teachers and mentor students with technology-enriched lessons that transform learning throughout the school.
