Yorkville Woman Wins $200,000 in 'Disco Bingo'

“I can’t believe I really won, I think I’m in shock!” Dawn Garbe said when she presented her $200,000 winning Disco Bingo instant ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines. “I never thought I would win a prize like this!”

An occasional Illinois Lottery player, Garbe buys an instant ticket once a month. “I chose the Disco Bingo ticket because it’s entertaining. I like that it takes a while to play it.”

The lucky Yorkville resident plans to invest her windfall.

Garbe purchased her winning Disco Bingo ticket at Oswego Earth Market, 6501 Route 34 in Oswego. After scratching the ticket and seeing she had won $200,000, Garbe rushed back into the store to have a clerk confirm the win. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. Disco Bingo is a $5 instant ticket with a top prize of $200,000.
