YPAC's BRAVE Project Features More than Just Great Dancing

March 3 Youth Performance Raises Funds for Local Families

Over the past five years, The Brave Project grew organically from five ID Company members to a large benefit show featuring the artistic talents of YPAC performing groups in various disciplines, including ballet, tap, contemporary, hip-hop and more. While the size may have changed, the purpose remains – to help others.

“YPAC students learn more than dance, they learn to use their talents to uplift and help others, and to serve in a way that can profoundly impact our communities and world,” said Bridget Nameche, YPAC Productions Director and Customer Care Champion. “Community service is a key component of this, and The Brave Project is our largest benefit event.”

Each year, the showcase serves a need in the community, added Nameche.

“This year, all show proceeds will be donated to three YPAC families – the Diaz, Gengler and Tuttle families. Within just one month of each other, the Diaz and Tuttle families each experienced the loss of a parent. And, as one of the Genglers’ four children, Ellie, spent the last year recovering from the rare disease, Juvenile Dermatoyositis, her mother, Rebecca, was diagnosed with breast cancer.”

The 2019 YPAC Brave Project Show will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Community Commons off Route 59 in Plainfield.

“We want to show these amazing families our support, and we hope the community will join us,” added Nameche. “Plus, you can witness the talent and hard work of these local performers.”

In addition to the show raising funds for local families, members of YPAC's performing groups also raise money for their own selected charities that are close to their hearts. Since its conception, The Brave Project has donated over $50,000 to local and global charities!
