Ankeny Fire Department Accepting Toys For Tots Donations

The fire department hopes to fill an ambulance and firetruck with new toys for Central Iowa children.

ANKENY, IA — The Ankeny Fire Department is participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign to provide gifts for children who otherwise would not receive a toy at Christmas. Donations of new toys will be accepted through Dec. 15.

As part of the campaign, the fire department will have its annual Fill the Ambulance and Fill the Firetruck day from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10, when residents can drop off toys. The ambulance will be at Station No. 2, 665 S.E. Oralabor Road, and the firetruck to be filled will be at the headquarters, 120 N.W. Ash Drive.

Both Ankeny fire stations are official drop-off sites for the Toys for Tots campaign. Only new and unwrapped toys are requested. Items can be taken to either site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
