The City of Ankeny and Des Moines Water Works have completed the work to repair the water main leak and the lawn irrigation suspension has been lifted. The City has moved back to Stage 1 of the Water Conservation Plan until further notice. Thank you to everyone who helped with this effort by not irrigating since Monday night.

Following Stage 1 of the Water Conservation Plan, the City will continue to reduce water usage at its facilities. Residents and businesses are asked to follow the alternate day lawn irrigation schedule as described below. The recommended lawn irrigation schedule applies to all spray irrigation systems for businesses and homes:

• Watering is not recommended on Mondays
• Even-numbered addresses are encouraged to water on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m.
• Odd-numbered addresses are encouraged to water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m.
• Watering is not recommended during the hottest part of the day – between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
