Ankeny Police Arrest Two Males For Pharmacy Robbery

On Thursday, Feb. 27, at approximately 8:39 a.m., the Ankeny Police Department was sent to CVS, located at 104 E. First St., in reference to a robbery that just occurred. The victim said an unknown male claimed to have a gun and demanded a controlled medication. The suspect then climbed over the pharmacy counter, stole medication and fled the store. Witnesses said the suspect got into a gray colored SUV driven by another male.

Polk County Dispatch broadcasted the suspects’ information. The Iowa Department of Transportation Traffic Management Center located a vehicle matching the suspects’ description traveling northbound on I-35 from Ankeny. They provided location updates to officers until the suspects were stopped in Ames and then taken into custody without incident.

The following individuals were charged with Robbery in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony.
