Beware Unlicensed Salesmen, City of Ankeny Says
People offering to paint reflective addresses on the city curbs are not licensed in Ankeny, according to a release.
Have you ever wondered about that door-to-door salesman. The City of Ankeny is asking residents to be cautious when people come to your door or leave fliers behind after a salesperson offered to paint reflective address numbers on city curbs.
"The City does not endorse this practice and prohibits curbside painting on City property,” said Ankeny City Clerk Pam DeMouth, in a prepared statement.
Before speaking to any door-to-door salesperson people should ask to see their solicitor's license which can be verified on the city's website.

Just 15 people have licenses to sell door to door in Ankeny.
