Firetrucker Offers $47,000 for Former Uptown Fire Station

Firetrucker would purchase the former fire station and part of another lot.

Firetrucker LLC proposed to purchase the former fire station site in Ankeny's Uptown for $47,000.

The Ankeny City Council will hold a public hearing on the sale during council meeting Monday.

The company wants to buy the former fire station site at 716 SW Third Street and a portion of 206 SW Maple Street. The deal covers two buildings and about one fourth of an acre of land associated with the lot for the former VW Smith office/shop, according to agenda documents.

Firetrucker has also committed to future support of the Ankeny Market Pavilion, an annual Fire Department fundraiser, sponsorship of live music on Saturday or Sunday afternoons at the Trailhead and more.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
