Giovannetti to Share Best Practices for Local Service Delivery with Central Iowa Taxpayers
Panel will explore innovative ideas on creating successful public-private partnerships.

Longtime public servant E.J. Giovannetti will host a panel discussion on innovations in local service delivery and other best practices at an Oct. 17 program sponsored by the Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa.
The “Ideas in Action” session will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. at Embassy Club West, 520 Market St., West Des Moines.
Giovannetti served as Urbandale’s mayor for 20 years before serving another 10 on the Polk County Board of Supervisors. His name is a familiar one on a host of other local boards and commissions. Also on the panel will be city and school officials from central Iowa who will discuss innovative strategies for service delivery.

Some example are shared services, the use of non-public service providers or a combination of two. The panel will explore some of the myths and realities of outsourcing and essential elements for successful collaboration.
The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members, and it includes complimentary drinks and appetizers. Register online.
