Principal Selected For Ankeny Alternative Learning Center

Jeremy Braden is currently an associate principal at Prairie Ridge Middle School.

ANKENY, IA — A principal has been chosen for the Ankeny school district's Alternative Learning Center for the 2018-19 school year. Jeremy Braden currently associate principal at Prairie Ridge Middle School, will begin that position with the fall semester.

The Ankeny district has been undergoing a study through a task force of the alternative learning opportunities in Ankeny Schools, according to a district news release. The addition of an alternative school program will provide resources to students that may otherwise be at risk of dropping out in an effort to ensure that everyone in the district has the ability to graduate.

Braden joined the Ankeny district in the 2014-15 school year after being a middle school/high school principal at West Monona School District in Onawa. District leaders said he has a passion for ensuring that all students are successful.

He will continue as associate principal at Prairie Ridge through the end of the current school year, while also beginning collaboration and planning for his new role as the Alternative Learning Center principal.

The district is set to begin the recruitment process for the next associate principal at Prairie Ridge.
