Ankeny High School is one of the best in Iowa and the country, according to a new survey of high schools in America.
Ankeny ranks as the No. 10 best high school in Iowa and No. 1,746 in the nation, according to the U.S. News and World report analysis released today.
Ankeny performs well in reading and math - 90 percent proficient in reading and 88 percent proficient in math. Ankeny has a 21.1 score on the college readiness index, which is comparatively good in Iowa.

Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Ankeny High School is 26 percent. The student body makeup is 50 percent male and 50 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 9 percent.
In Iowa, the cream of the crop is Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. The school came in at No. 550 in the nation. Decorah came in as the No. 2 school.
