Shawn Johnson in Hot Water on 'Celebrity Apprentice'
How is the former Olympic gymnast and West Des Moines native doing in Donald Trump's board room?

On last night’s episode of “Celebrity Apprentice”, Shawn Johnson’s strategy landed her in the hot seat.
Johnson’s team was asked to create a mobile boutique for Ivanka Trump’s line of shoes with Nordstrom’s. Vivica A. Fox was frustrated with Johnson for not volunteering to be the project manager.
Shawn admitted behind the scenes that this wasn’t her area of expertise and that she planned on employing her strategy of laying low and relying on hard work and good ideas.

Led by project manager Fox, the team of Johnson, Geraldo Rivera, Kate Gosselin, Sig Hansen and Lorenzo Lamas were defeated on the task.
“Who should I fire?” Trump asked.

Fox hesitated more than usual but nominated Johnson and Gosselin as has every time she’s had the opportunity. Fox must have noticed that her popularity was falling after being so rude and unpleasant in previous weeks, as she at least pretended to feel bad saying Shawn was the goat this time.
Gosselin supported Iowa’s sweetheart, telling Trump that Johnson contributed greatly on the task and came up with the main aspect of the project that received positive reviews. Gosselin seems to have gained a lot of respect for Johnson lately, as the two have been bonding more than most others on the show. The reality show star went on to say that Johnson has been a huge reason for team success in every project thus far.
In the end, it was the former Olympic gold medalist’s abilities that hurt her. Trump recognized her level-headedness, ideas and work ethic, but was disappointed that she didn’t “step up” to volunteer as project manager in what Ivanka pointed out as what could have been seen as a niche for Johnson as the youngest competitor. Alas, the words we’ve been afraid of...
“Shawn, you’re fired.”
