Traffic Alert: South Ankeny Boulevard And Magazine Road Safety Improvements Project Starts On June 3

Stage 1 will last approximately 25 working days. During this period, the west leg median and ramps on all corners will be reconstructed.

June 1, 2021

Construction is set to begin at the intersection of Magazine Road and S Ankeny Boulevard on Thursday, June 3, resulting in street and lane closures. The medians will be reconstructed to make the intersection safer by increasing storage capacity of the southbound, northbound and eastbound left-turn lanes; and realigning left-turn lanes to improve drivers’ sightlines to on-coming traffic. Modification of traffic signals and pedestrian facilities, such as new pedestrian ramps and pushbutton poles, are also included. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-August.
