Verizon Cell Service Outage In Polk County

***CELLULAR PHONE OUTAGE***

VERIZON WIRELESS is experiencing network issues that are prohibiting their customers ability to dial 911 and reach local public safety officials. It is reported there are about 350 Verizon tower sites affected, including the Polk County area. If you are a Verizon customer and need emergency services, if your 911 calls fails, please contact that agency at their non-emergency number.

For City of Ankeny and Polk County call Polk County Dispatch at 515-286-3333.

For Des Moines, call 515-283-4811 and western suburbs served by Westcom ( West Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, Waukee, and Norwalk) call 515-222-3321.

Verizon is aware of the issue and working to resolve the problem. Verizon is the only affected cellular carrier that we are aware of having issues at this time.
