Both students started in the Computer Information Technology A.A.S. program and switched
over to the Cloud Computing major, which was introduced in Spring 2020 as an interdisciplinary
degree among the program areas of Computer Information Technology, Computer Network
Technology and Business and Management. The interdisciplinary nature of the major
made it easy for both students to change programs midway while still retaining many
credits previously earned.
Delgado offers a 60-hour Associate of Applied Science and a shorter-timeframe Career
and Technical Certificate (C.T.C.) in Cloud Computing.

The associate degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in
cloud computing and provide a foundation for further studies with instruction on the
overall computer information technology environment, virtual computer networks, network
data security, management of IT projects and IT support for cloud systems.
The certificate program is much shorter and may be ideal for individuals who may already
have a strong IT career, as an add-on for those who are currently pursuing an IT or
related degree, or those looking to make a career change. All students who complete
the associate degree also earn the certificate automatically.
In addition to the two A.A.S. graduates, 17 students were awarded the Career and Technical
Certificate in Cloud Computing at Delgado’s Spring 2021 Commencement.
