High temperatures can cause a number of heat illnesses, including heat exhaustion or heat stroke. The symptoms of heat stroke include red skin that is hot to the touch; changes in consciousness; rapid, weak pulse; and rapid, shallow breathing. If someone is experiencing heat stroke, you should call 9-1-1, move them to a cool place and cool them down with water if possible. Do not give them anything to drink.
