ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THEIR 2021 OWNER OCCUPIED REHABILITATION PROGRAM

JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development (JPDCD) is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for their 2021 Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program.

The OOR Program is designed to assist home owners whose primary residence has fallen into disrepair. This voluntary program provides income-eligible homeowners with a forgivable loan to make necessary home repairs. Properties are rehabilitated so that they are safe and sanitary, meet current building codes and/or become barrier-free for elderly or disabled persons.

This program will only cover owner-occupied, single-family homes. Homes must be structurally sound and suitable for rehabilitation under the time and monetary constraints of the program. At the conclusion of the application period, a lottery will be held to determine who will receive assistance. This program will not have a waiting list. Any participants not assisted during this round of funding will need to reapply during the next application period.

Interested applicants can pick up a preliminary eligibility application directly from the JPDCD office (1221 Elmwood Park Blvd., Suite 605, Jefferson, LA 70123) or at any JEFFCAP Community Center (a list can be found at www.jeffparish.net/departments/jeffcap/community-centers). The application is also available for download at the Community Development website page under “Owner Occupied Rehabilitation.” Completed applications can be dropped off directly to the JPDCD office (1221 Elmwood Park Blvd., Suite 605) or sent via email to jpcdprograms@jeffparish.net. Please do not mail in applications. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021.
