2 Maryland Football Players Charged in BB-Gun Assaults
University of Maryland running back Lorenzo Harrison, wide receiver D.J. Turner are charged with shooting students with BB gun, police say.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Two starters for the University of Maryland football team — running back Lorenzo Harrison and wide receiver D.J. Turner — have been charged for reportedly shooting several students with BB guns, authorities said Wednesday.
The duo faces three counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment each for the on-campus incident, according to the University of Maryland Police Department.
Three students had reported to campus police that they were shot Nov. 6 in the area of Paint Branch Drive between Kim Engineering and Biomolecular Science Building/ Stadium Drive between Stadium Drive Parking Garage and Ellicott Hall.

Turner, 19, of Glenarden, and Harrison, 19, of Clinton, were charged on Tuesday and are represented by attorneys, police say.
"We are aware of the situation and take these matters very seriously," the athletic department said in a statement to the campus newspaper, the Diamondback. "The two student-athletes involved have been suspended indefinitely for violating the student-athlete code of conduct. This matter has also been referred to the Office of Student Conduct for further review."

Linebacker Antoine Brooks was indefinitely suspended along with Turner and Harrison for allegedly violating the student-athlete code of conduct. But, Brooks was not charged and is no longer suspended, the athletic department says.
None of the victims were seriously injured.
