Three Children Killed In PG County House Fire: Report
A deadly townhome fire in Hillcrest Heights early Monday killed three children under the age of 12 and injured a firefighter and an adult.

PRINCE GEORGE?S COUNTY, MD ? Three children all younger than 12 died in a Monday morning house fire in Hillcrest Heights, according to Prince George's County Fire and EMS Public Information Officer Jennifer Donelan.
In addition to the three deaths, one firefighter and one resident were treated for burns. The adult townhome resident was able to get out of the residence and was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, the department said.
The fire department said the fire began around 2 a.m. in a two-story townhouse at 2414 Iverson St. in Hillcrest Heights. A 911 caller reported several people were trapped in the home by the fire.

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m. and reported ?well-advanced? flames, Donelan said. The crews put out the fire about an hour after their arrival.
Donelan told WUSA9 two adults and one child were able to escape the home and receive assistance from the local Red Cross. One child was found dead in the home after crews extinguished the fire, while two other children were rescued through the front door, and later died in the hospital.

Six total people were in the townhome at the time of the fire, according to Donelan.
The names of the victims have not been released.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but fire investigators and Prince George?s County detectives are investigating the fire.
The county is helping two adults and one child who were displaced by the fire.
