7-Year-Old?s Gift Stolen; Make-A-Wish, Police Replace Present
After Jacob Newkirk?s Make-A-Wish Foundation gift was stolen, the Prince George?s County Police Department helped to replace his present.

CLINTON, MD ? Seven-year-old Jacob Newkirk received his one wish from Make-A-Wish Foundation last month, an inflatable water slide. However, the water slide was soon stolen from his family?s backyard on June 30.
As he deals with an ongoing battle with sickle cell disease, all Jacob wanted was his own inflatable water slide.
When the Prince George?s County Police Department was notified of the crime, Lt. Jakob Wolford wanted to make things right, for the family and for Jacob.

?They didn?t just steal property, they stole this boy?s wish,? Wolford said.
After receiving the report, Wolford reached out to the Newkirk family directly and later contacted Make-A-Wish Foundation about the theft.

The organization agreed to replace the stolen slide for Jacob, as well as gift the family an additional outdoor trampoline, according to WUSA9.
As of July 7, there have not been any updates on suspects or leads on the case, but the police department continues to investigate the crime.
Wolford said, ?My wish now is that we make an arrest in this case.?
