OXON HILL, MD — Two men were struck -- one fatally -- on the exit ramp of I-295 in Oxon Hill while trying to repair their broken-down truck, police say.

Police were called to the southbound ramp of I-295 and southbound Indian Head Highway at around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 21 to a report of a crash involving two pedestrians, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police believe two men were at the end of the I-295 exit ramp trying to repair their broken-down truck on the shoulder when two cars approached, the first swerving to avoid them and the second striking both the men and their truck, the report states.
