70% Of Maryland Adults Vaccinated By Memorial Day
Maryland achieved its goal of 70 percent of adults vaccinated by Memorial Day, Gov. Larry Hogan said. Plus a list of mass vaccine sites.

BOWIE, MD — Gov. Larry Hogan said Maryland has surpassed its goal of vaccinating 70 percent of adults for the coronavirus by Memorial Day.
As of Monday, Maryland has reported 6,134,762 COVID-19 vaccinations with 88 percent of seniors vaccinated and now 70 percent of adults.
“This is a big deal," Hogan said in a news release. "President Biden set a goal of getting 70 percent of adults in the country vaccinated by the Fourth of July. Here in Maryland, we said we wanted to get 70 percent of adults vaccinated by Memorial Day, and that’s exactly what we have done. It was an ambitious goal, but once again, our healthcare heroes have risen to the occasion, as have the millions of Marylanders stepping up to get the vaccine.

The state's key health metrics of cases and hospitalizations have consistently declined since mid-April. Maryland's positivity rate is at an all-time low of 1.47 percent. The statewide case rate is 3.25 per 100,000 with a 86 percent decrease. In addition to the decline in positive cases, the COVID-19 hospitalizations are down 74 percent with 333 current hospitalizations.
“Our health and economic recovery continues to outpace the nation. Of course, our work is not yet done, and with a summer of mobile clinics ahead, we will continue to do all we can to make sure no arm is left behind. If you still need to get vaccinated, we encourage you to visit any of our thousands of distribution points across the state,” Hogan said.
