ALDI Store To Have Grand Reopening In Bowie
A renovated ALDI grocery store in Bowie will be holding a grand reopening next week.

BOWIE, MD — The ALDI that was being renovated in Bowie will have a grand reopening ceremony next week.
The ALDI at 6810 Racetrack Road was part of a $1.9 billion initiative by the company to remodel and expand more than 1,300 ALDI stores by the end of 2020. A total of $30 million was spent on 30 stores in the D.C. area.
The Bowie ALDI will have its grand reopening on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:50 a.m., and it will feature ribbon-cutting ceremony and then a Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers. Shoppers will also be eligible to win a year's supply of ALDI produce.

"The updated Bowie ALDI store layout features expansive refrigeration space to accommodate the fresh, healthy and convenient products people want most," the statement reads. "ALDI recently expanded its product offerings, making 20 percent of its total selection new. This expansion is part of the company’s aggressive national growth and remodel plan, and it includes a 40 percent increase in its fresh food selection, with many organic, convenient and easy-to-prepare options.
"ALDI stores also feature open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally friendly building materials," the statement adds, noting that the Bowie store will be open daily from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

“We listened when we heard ALDI customers wanted more fresh and convenient options, and our remodeled stores allow us to offer them exactly what they’re looking for,” said Jeff Baehr, Frederick division vice president for ALDI, in the statement. “Expanding our fresh product selection is just one of the ways we’ve improved the grocery shopping experience at ALDI and we’re excited to introduce this to our shoppers in Bowie.”
ALDI, a German-based grocery store chain, has more than 11,000 locations worldwide. It is owned by the same family that owns Trader Joe's.
